Poster of 43 Patches from some of North America’s most historic ski areas, some of which no longer exist. As an avid ‘patch collector’ this is one of Richard’s favorite Ski Posters. The 43 ski areas represented in the Ski Poster are listed here in categories representing their location in the nation. The background has a light wood grain.
East Coast Patches:
The 6 New York ski areas are – Belleayre Mountain, Davos – Woodridge, Gore Mountain, Scotch Valley – Stamford, and Sterling Forest – Tuxedo
The 3 New Hampshire ski areas are – Brookline, Mt. Cranmore (with Skimobile) – North Conway, and Wildcat – Pinkham Notch
The 2 Vermont ski areas are – Mad River Glen and Sugarbush Valley
The 2 Pennsylvania ski areas are: Big Boulder and Laurel Mountain – Ligonier
The 1 Maine ski area is Rangeley – Saddleback.
The 1 Massachusetts ski area is Thunder Mountain – Charlemont
The 2 Minnesota ski areas are: Buck Hill and Afton Alps
The 3 Wisconsin ski areas are: Alpine Valley, Devil’s Head Lodge, and Trollhaugen
Rocky Mountain Patches:
The 12 Colorado ski areas are: Aspen, Aspen Highlands, Breckenridge, Buttermilk, Crested Butte, Loveland, Purgatory, Snowmass, Steamboat, Telluride, Vail, Winter Park, and 10th Mountain (as they trained in Cape Hale for years).
The 3 Utah ski areas are: Alta, Park City, and Snowbird
The 2 Idaho ski area are: Sun Valley and Bogus Basin
The 1 Wyoming ski area is Jackson Hole
West Coast Patches:
The 3 California ski areas are: Alpine Meadows – Lake Tahoe, Heavenly Valley – Lake Tahoe and Squaw Valley
The 2 Oregon ski areas are: Mt. Bachelor – Bend and Ski Bowl – Mt. Hood
