Best tips for Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise

ainte-Foy is a small, attractive, unpretentious resort developed since 1990, at the foot of what started life as a cult off-piste mountain. It remains excellent for experts but now attracts many others, including families. Keen piste-bashers will want to travel to big resorts nearby – easily done by car. Sainte-Foy itself is a village straddling the busy road up from Bourg St Maurice to Val d’Isere. Its slopes start at Sainte-Foy-Station (aka Bonconseil), which is set 4km off the main road. With a car you can visit some excellent restaurants close by and explore nearby resorts – Val d’Isere, Tignes, Les Arcs, La Plagne and La Rosiere. Some tour ops organise excursions too. With a Sainte-Foy lift pass for six days or more you can buy reduced price day passes for these resorts.

  • Convenient slope-side lodging
  • Some quite challenging slopes
  • Excellent children’s nursery slopes
  • Not much of a village
  • Weekend queues
  • Exposed upper mountain
