Japan Railways has launched a new regional pass, called JR Tohoku-South Hokkaido Rail Pass. It make ski safari in the Tohuku and South Hokkaido district easier, and should make it less demanding for skiers to get around Japanese ski resorts.
Japan Railways do also own and operate several of the Japanese ski resorts.
The new JR Tohoku-South Hokkaido Rail Pass do now enable holders to make boundless adventures by train in the ski resorts areas, covered by the two companies.
The rail pass cost around 19,000 Yen (£145) for one adult.
The new “flexible 5-day” system allow the holder to go on trains on any five days of their decision during a 14-day validity period.
Some of the Japanese ski & snowboards resorts you can reach with new regional pass, include Zao Onsen, Bandai Resorts and Appi Kogen in Tohoku and Niseko (Kutchan station), Kiroro, Furano and Rusutsu in Hokkaido.
